ERROL FABIEN SLAMMED FOR ANTI-VACCINE POST

Local entertainment icon and comedian, Errol Fabien, was slammed by social Media bloggers on
Facebook, after he posted what appears to be an anti-vaccination stance.
His post on Facebook read “As for me, as of now, I will not be taking the vaccine’.

Some commenters urged Fabien to consider his popularity when making such statements. In some
comments, citing his influence, he was urged to provide a reason for his position taken.

All were not critical of Fabien’s stance. Some comments raised concerns, with mention of instances
where individuals were bullied, for publicly indicating their refusal to take the vaccine.

In what seems to be a personal attack, referring to Fabien’s recent dilemma, involving re-acquisition of
his personal dwelling place, one blogger going by the name, Analisa Analisa, wrote,
“Right now are you comfortable and safe in your home Mr. Fabien? A lot of ppl can’t afford that luxury
that you were granted – by the very public who you’re now making health declarations to”.
There is an alarming correlation with Covid mortality and factors such as poverty, homelessness and
front-line work – none of which you have to worry about now.
Does the fresh irony so easily escape you? What DID you do with the $62,000 US you got from the
gofundme? Stockpile on oxygen tanks?
We are all cautious of the vaccine but maybe Covid needs to hit a bit closer to home for you to sober up
as a role model; and desist from making such reckless statements from your ivory tower”.

Another commenter Roxanne Bruce, in support of the post stated.
“Uncle Erol this is your page and freedom of speech. It’s your choice and just how ppl advertising to take
the vaccine u are free to advertise u not taking it these ppl to farse aa. If allyuh dnt like what the man
post on HIS PAGE scroll pass or get off his page “.

The post has highlighted polarized views regarding the Covid 19 vaccines, currently being administered
in Trinidad & Tobago.
A blogger claiming to be a health care worker, Shaila Jones, wrote, “Am a health care worker and I am
not even taking it”. This comment alone invoked about 63 responses with many criticisms.

At the time of writing this article, there was no response to any comment, from Errol Fabien.
