In what has been described as a way to break through the resistance of vaccine resistance and hesitancy, United States President, Joe Biden, announced earlier today, strict measures aimed at getting more Americans vaccinated.
President Biden said, the federal government, will reimburse employers who give their employees time-off to be vaccinated, but also to get their family members vaccinated. He also called on states and local government to use funding received, including funds from the American rescue plan, to give $100 to anyone who gets fully vaccinated.
The President said he is asking the American defense department, to look at how and when they can add Covid 19 vaccines to the list of vaccines, the armed forces must get.
The president went on to state that every federal employee, must attest to their vaccination status. Anyone who does not attest, must wear mask wherever they work. They must also test 1 or 2 times per week, to determine if they have acquired Covid 19. They must remain distanced from others and generally, they would not be allowed to travel to work.
The measures went on to request that similar standards be set for anyone doing business with the government. The president measures, followed a series of other restrictive measures, implemented by privately owned businesses and state organizations, which would have begun implementing vaccine adherence policies at their workplace.
