Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, has called on Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, to come up with a plan by next week, detailing when citizens can return to work and feed their families.
In a Facebook post on Saturday 5th June 2021, at approximately 3 hours after the Prime announced an extension of current curfew hours, she said, the Prime Minister made an announcement of continued lockdown without any concern for non-essential workers who have no income, cannot pay rent, cannot feed their families, cannot pay their loans, have depleted their savings, and who are struggling in so many other ways.
Despite repeated claims by the Prime Minister that vaccines which are approved by the World Health Organization, are only available to Sovereigns and are not commercially available for purchase by any private entity, the Opposition Leader’s post stated, the alternative was to allow the private sector to import vaccines, instead of chastising them.
The post which cited many alternatives, one of which is to have competent and legal management of our health care institutions during the worst health crisis in our history, instead of having a playwright and PNM party hack as CEO of the NCRHA.
