Responding to a question asked of him by a reporter during his Press Conference on Saturday 6th June, Prime Minister Keith Rowley, clarified the Government’s position regarding a “salary cut” for CEPEP workers, as widely reported by most local media houses.
PM Rowley responded by indicating, the CEPEP program has been shut down due to the pandemic and workers were asked to remain at home and are to receive two thirds of their regular salary as a grant.
It was widely reported that CEPEP workers had received a salary cut, prompting calls for salary cuts for government ministers also.
